Turn Of Your Cellphones Please

Next time someone complains about your habit of using a cellphone in the movie theater, just casually tell him this story of a man who got stabbed with a meat thermometer after making a similar complaint.

It was 9:00 PM on a Saturday night and people were watching Shutter Island in a Lancaster movie theater when a man started whining that a woman seated near him was talking on her cellphone. He thought his concerns were well-received when he noticed the woman and her two fellows get up and leave. The next thing he knew though, he had a meat thermometer sticking out of his neck, courtesy of one of the men.

The complainer has been hospitalized and the stabber has not been caught. So be careful about what you say in a movie theater.

Tecmo Bowl Throwback

In a few months, Tecmo Bowl Throwback ($TBA) will let you relive your gridiron glory days of the late 80's. Available as a download this spring on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, the old school omnipotent features online multiplayer (find your old nemesis on Facebook and finally beat his ass), customizable teams and rosters, and the ability to switch between 2D (8 bit-style) or 3D (shown above) views. The only downside is they don't have an NFL license, so you'll have to put in player names yourself.

I am most definitely alll about this.

Karl Goes All Out

A political statement about climate change was the last thing on Karl Lagerfeld’s mind when he trotted Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2010 collection in front of a giant, 265-ton glacier in Paris on Tuesday.

It took 35 ice sculptors, flown in from around the world, six days to carve the 28-foot-tall northern Swedish import into a tableau of floating ice caps on a glittering Arctic sea—in reality, a 5,300-square-meter box garnished with a thin layer of water.

ancient past to our near and distant future.
